In the latest chapter of his feud with President Donald Trump, tech mogul Elon Musk has taken a bold stance against the massive tax-and-spending bill by labeling it as “DEBT SLAVERY”
Musk, who contributed $290 million to President Trump’s 2024 campaign, now stands against the president’s massive tax bill.
The Tesla CEO went even further in his attacks by threatening to unseat those Republicans who support it.
The battle reveals growing divisions among conservatives over government spending, fiscal responsibility, and the future direction of the Republican Party in the post-2024 era.
Musk unleashed a blistering attack against the legislation currently moving through Congress.
The billionaire labeled the bill a “pork-filled” and “disgusting abomination” while warning it would saddle Americans with unbearable debt.
Musk’s criticism centers on the bill’s impact on the national debt, claiming it increases the debt ceiling by a staggering $5 trillion.
The Congressional Budget Office projects the Senate version will increase the deficit by $3.3 trillion between 2025 and 2034, confirming some of Musk’s fiscal concerns.
Musk has gone beyond mere criticism, threatening political consequences for any Republican who supports the legislation.
He specifically called out House Republicans Andy Harris and Chip Roy for not opposing the bill.
Musk also vowed primary challenges against fiscal conservatives who back what he views as reckless spending.
“Every member of Congress who campaigned on reducing government spending and then immediately voted for the biggest debt increase in history should hang their head in shame!” Musk said.
“And they will lose their primary next year if it is the last thing I do on this Earth,” he added.
How can you call yourself the Freedom Caucus if you vote for a DEBT SLAVERY bill with the biggest debt ceiling increase in history?@RepAndyHarrisMD @chiproytx

The legislation contains provisions that affect Musk’s business interests, including a new tax incentive for coal production while repealing subsidies for wind and solar projects after 2027.
Musk has linked these changes to potential job losses and increased taxes on renewable energy projects.
The feud between Musk and President Trump has escalated dramatically since their previous alliance during the 2024 campaign.
“I think he’s a wonderful guy. I haven’t spoken to him much, but I think Elon is a wonderful guy, and I know he’s going to do well always,” President Trump started.
“He’s a smart guy. And he actually went and campaigned with me and this and that. But he got a little bit upset, and that wasn’t appropriate,” the president added.
Musk’s criticism intensified during his tenure as head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) under the Trump administration, suggesting a deeper frustration with Washington’s spending habits.
He is now calling for a new “America Party” as an alternative to what he describes as a “one-party country — the PORKY PIG PARTY!!”
Senate Majority Leader John Thune and OMB Director Russell Vought have pushed back against Musk’s claims, stating the bill does not affect the discretionary spending targeted by DOGE.
However, many fiscal conservatives are now caught between loyalty to President Trump and commitment to reducing government spending, exactly the division Musk aims to exploit.
This confrontation highlights the growing tension within conservative circles over fiscal responsibility and government spending, raising questions about the Republican Party’s identity and priorities after regaining control of the federal government.
