(DailyEmailNews.com) – Elon Musk’s Tesla is facing yet another crisis as nearly all U.S. Cybertrucks are being recalled due to an issue that could possibly lead to accidents or even worse.

This latest setback for the American electric vehicle manufacturer comes as the company’s stock has already plummeted nearly 42% this year, highlighting growing challenges to Musk’s automotive vision.

Tesla announced that it would recall 46,096 Cybertruck vehicles due to a dangerous design flaw.

The recall affects nearly every Cybertruck built between November 13, 2023, and February 27, 2025, representing the majority of these vehicles currently on American roads.

This massive recall involves an exterior cant rail, a stainless-steel panel attached with structural adhesive, which could separate while driving.

“If the cant rail stainless steel panel separates from the vehicle while in drive, it could create a road hazard for following motorists and increase their risk of injury or a collision,” the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) warned in their report.

The issue came to light after multiple reports from Cybertruck owners and videos circulating on social media platforms showed the dangerous defect in action.

Tesla confirmed they are aware of 151 warranty claims related to this specific problem, though it claims no injuries or accidents have occurred.

Tesla owners who shelled out up to $100,000 for the cutting-edge American vehicle will receive free replacement of the defective rail assembly at service centers.

This is not the first time the Cybertruck has faced problems. Tesla previously recalled models for a similar issue with metal trim around the trunk bed.

The mounting quality concerns come at a particularly bad time for the company as it faces increasing competition from both domestic and foreign manufacturers.

The financial impact of these ongoing issues has been devastating for Tesla shareholders. The company’s stock has fallen significantly, losing about half its value in 2025 alone.

Market analysts point to multiple factors contributing to Tesla’s decline, including an aging product lineup, rising competition, and even consumer backlash against Musk himself.

Adding to Tesla’s mounting troubles, the company has been responsible for a staggering 5.1 million vehicle recalls in 2024 alone.

While most of Tesla’s previous recalls were fixable through over-the-air software updates, this mechanical defect requires physical repairs at service centers.

Once heralded as the future of electric trucks with its distinctive stainless steel exoskeleton, the Cybertruck has faced multiple delays and setbacks since its initial unveiling.

Despite the initial enthusiasm for the uniquely American vision of a futuristic pickup truck, demand has reportedly weakened as potential buyers reconsider their options amid these ongoing quality and safety concerns.
