(DailyEmailNews.com) – Marking the beginning of a major legal showdown, Trump administration officials are fighting back against an activist liberal judge’s invasive demands for classified deportation details.
President Donald Trump’s Justice Department invoked state secrets privilege to protect sensitive information about gang member deportations to El Salvador.
By doing so, the administration is standing firm against judicial overreach that threatens national security and America’s sovereignty.
Specifically, President Trump safeguarded America’s national security interests by invoking state secrets privilege in a case involving the deportation of Venezuelan aliens with ties to the dangerous Tren de Aragua gang.
U.S. District Judge James Boasberg had demanded extensive details about the deportation flights, including flight information and the number of people transferred, despite the sensitive nature of the operations.
Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche informed Boasberg that Cabinet-level officials, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, were considering invoking the privilege.
In his communication to the court, Blanche emphasized that this “is a serious matter that requires careful consideration of national security and foreign relations, and it cannot properly be taken in just 24 hours.”
The Trump administration argued in its filing that “further intrusions on the Executive Branch would present dangerous and wholly unwarranted separation-of-powers harms with respect to diplomatic and national security concerns that the Court lacks competence to address.”
This stance reinforces President Trump’s commitment to protecting America from dangerous criminal aliens while preserving executive authority.
The ongoing legal battle centers on whether the Trump administration violated Boasberg’s emergency restraining order that attempted to block deportations under the 1798 Alien Enemies Act.
“Accordingly, the states secrets privilege forecloses further demands for details that have no place in this matter, and the government will address the Court’s order to show…there is no basis for the suggestion of noncompliance with any binding order,” said the administration.
Despite the restraining order, a plane carrying illegals, including Venezuelan nationals with suspected gang affiliations, successfully landed in El Salvador.
The Department of Justice has maintained that the deported individuals had connections to the notoriously violent Tren de Aragua gang, though liberal-leaning critics claim there was insufficient evidence.
These deportations represent the Trump administration’s promised crackdown on criminal aliens who exploit America’s immigration system and threaten the safety of law-abiding citizens.
The state secrets privilege, which allows the government to withhold information whose disclosure would harm national security, is being used to shield sensitive details about international security operations.
Government attorneys are working to overturn Boasberg’s order and resume deportations of dangerous criminal aliens who should never have been allowed to enter the country in the first place.
By taking decisive action against gang members and protecting sensitive information, the Trump administration is fulfilling its primary duty to keep Americans safe and secure.
