Despite scoring massive wins over the past few months, President Donald Trump’s new poll ratings have shaken the nation.
The president’s approval rating has hit a new low, falling to 40% amid mass deportation raids by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
The latest Yahoo/YouGov poll paints a grim picture for the administration, as public sentiment appears to be mounting against the president.
This decline follows aggressive ICE operations targeting illegal aliens across America.
Described by President Trump as “the largest domestic deportation operation in American history,” these raids have sparked widespread protests.
The rocky ground is clear from a 10-point shift in his approval ratings over the past three months, with 56% of Americans disapproving of President Trump’s performance.
Concern over these immigration policies is not limited to opposition groups as even President Trump’s former supporters express concern.
Latino Americans, a group that showed support in the 2024 election, now register 62% disapproval of the raids.
President Trump’s approval rating on immigration has dropped to 44%, while disapproval has soared to 52%, indicating a growing chasm between his actions and voter expectations.
Despite the controversy, the president and his administration have remained firm, asserting that focusing on “heinous criminals” is essential for national security.
However, 51% of Americans believe President Trump has gone overboard, arresting and deporting illegals without sufficient scrutiny of their criminal backgrounds.

ICE’s reputation has also taken a hit, with 52% of the public viewing the agency unfavorably.
Public protests over ICE’s actions and the president’s military response have been divisive.
While some Americans (47%) approve of the protests against the deportation raids, a significant 40% disapprove.
President Trump’s decision to deploy armed troops in response to these protests has not benefited his image, with half of Americans condemning this move.
Adding to the administration’s concerns, the U.S. private sector witnessed a loss of 33,000 jobs in June, in stark contrast to the 100,000 gain in May.
This downward trend feeds into the narrative of a leadership under stress amid an economic slowdown and widespread unrest.
Mass protests and a rise in public dissatisfaction underscore the challenges faced by President Trump, whose primary campaign promise was to tighten immigration laws and enforce them strictly.
With policies once viewed as his strength now causing a decline, the president faces the most brutal battle for public support.
His current net approval is starkly negative at -16, pushing him far from the comparative positivity seen during similar periods of his predecessors’ terms.
Such numbers put pressure on President Trump to reassess his strategies and align them with voter sentiment.
