Obama Sounds Alarm – U.S. at Risk?

The Democrat Party is seeking to fan the flames of conflict by using former President Barack Obama to cause fear with alarming remarks.

Specifically, Obama has accused President Donald Trump and his administration of leading America toward autocracy.

Speaking to a crowd in Hartford, Obama warned that America is “dangerously close” to normalizing authoritarian behavior under President Trump.

His remarks came as protests erupted outside the venue over the current administration’s efforts to secure the southern border and enforce immigration laws.

Obama compared the United States to Hungary under Viktor Orbán, claiming America is shifting toward autocracy.

However, critics argue that this comparison ignores the unprecedented censorship, political prosecutions, and attacks on constitutional rights that occurred during Obama’s own presidency.

These included IRS targeting of conservative groups and mass surveillance programs exposed by Edward Snowden.

Despite overseeing record deportations during his administration, Obama criticized President Trump’s immigration policies.

The former president conveniently failed to mention his own “deporter-in-chief” reputation or that he built many of the detention facilities now used to process illegal aliens.

Instead, he advocated for the type of open-border policies that have led to the current national security and humanitarian crisis.

“If you follow regularly what is said by those who are in charge of the federal government right now, there is a weak commitment to what we understood – and not just my generation, at least since World War II – our understanding of how a liberal democracy is supposed to work,” Obama stated.

He continued, “There has to be a response and pushback from civil society, from various institutions and individuals outside of government, but there also have to be people in government in both parties who say, ‘No, you can’t do that.'”

“What we’re seeing right now… is not consistent with American democracy. It is consistent with autocracies,” Obama warned.

The irony was not lost on many who remember Obama’s famous quip about having “a pen and a phone” to bypass Congress when they would not support his agenda.

Under his leadership, executive orders were used extensively to implement policies that could not pass through proper legislative channels.

Obama also referenced President Trump’s claims about the 2020 election, saying, “In 2020, one person won the election, and it wasn’t the guy complaining about it.”

The former president has largely maintained a low profile since leaving office, occasionally emerging to criticize President Trump.

Additionally, Democrats under Joe Biden weaponized the justice system against President Trump through politically motivated prosecutions.
