The millionaire musician, who has homes around the world, chose a foreign stage to call the administration “corrupt, incompetent, and treasonous.”
Springsteen unleashed his anti-American tirade at the opening night of his European tour in England.
The 75-year-old rocker, who has enjoyed immense wealth and privilege thanks to America, took time from his performance to attack President Trump with language that delighted his overseas audience but insulted millions of patriotic Americans.
“In my home, the America I love, the America I’ve written about, that has been a beacon of hope and liberty for 250 years, is currently in the hands of a corrupt, incompetent and treasonous administration,” Springsteen stated.
This is not the first time the self-proclaimed champion of working-class Americans has shown his true colors.
Springsteen has a long history of supporting far-left Democrats, including Barack Obama, Joe Biden, and Kamala Harris.
He even co-created a podcast with Obama while remaining comfortably insulated from the economic struggles faced by everyday Americans under Democrat policies.
The so-called “Boss” repeatedly accused the Trump administration of siding with dictators and abandoning American values.
At the same time, Springsteen’s attack is particularly rich considering he chose a foreign audience for his political grandstanding.
Instead of showing respect for the President, he pandered to European elites by calling the administration “treasonous,” language that dishonors the millions of patriotic Americans who voted for Trump and support his policies.
The aging rocker has previously called Trump a “moron” during the 2016 campaign and recently accused him of aspiring to be an “American tyrant.”
These inflammatory accusations come from a celebrity worth an estimated $650 million who enjoys multiple luxury properties while preaching about the struggles of working Americans from the safety of his wealth.
Later, introducing House of a Thousand Guitars, he said:
“The last check, the last check on power after the checks and balances of government have failed are the people, you and me. It’s in the union of people around a common set of values now that’s all that stands between a democracy and authoritarianism. So at the end of the day, all we’ve got is each other.”
While Springsteen claims to champion American values, his willingness to trash Trump in Europe reveals his true loyalty is to the global elite rather than the American people.
Lastly, Springsteen’s well-publicized criticism reiterates the need for awareness and activism against authoritarian overtures in the ever-brewing political climate.
