(DailyEmailNews.com) – Dealing a devastating blow to Ukraine’s gains into Russian territory, Russia’s forces have recaptured the strategic town of Sudzha.

Watch the video down below.

The decisive military operation included Russian special forces that infiltrated through gas pipelines to strike Ukrainian units from behind.

This victory marks what could be the end of the first invasion of Russian territory since World War II.

Lt. Gen. Apti Alaudinov confirmed the Russian military’s strategic advantage, stating, “We have surrounded Sudzha from almost all sides.”

The town’s recapture represents a significant reversal of Ukraine’s August offensive, which had initially captured nearly 1,000 square kilometers of Russian territory and hundreds of prisoners of war.

Russian forces executed a multi-pronged assault involving over 50,000 troops, including reported North Korean reinforcements.

Facing relentless pressure, Ukrainian units have been forced to retreat across the Psel River from the eastern side of Sudzha.

They abandoned positions they had held since their surprise cross-border operation last summer.

The Russian special forces showcased their skills as they used a gas pipeline network to outmaneuver Ukrainian defenders, striking from unexpected angles near Sudzha’s vital gas infrastructure.

Ukraine’s General Staff has acknowledged this tactic while reporting significant Russian casualties in the operation, though exact numbers remain unverified.

The Russian Defense Ministry has claimed the capture of multiple villages surrounding Sudzha, systematically dismantling Ukraine’s foothold in the Kursk region.

This tactical success comes as Ukraine faces mounting challenges on multiple fronts.

Even President Donald Trump has predicted that Ukraine “may not survive” without continued American support.

While Ukrainian forces struggle to maintain their positions, France has announced additional military aid packages funded by profits from frozen Russian assets.

Adding to Ukraine’s troubles, concerns have emerged about potential disruptions to Starlink satellite internet service, which is critical for Ukrainian battlefield communications.

The issue prompted a public exchange involving Elon Musk, highlighting the fragility of Ukraine’s technological advantage as Russian forces continue their advance.

Russia’s recapture of Sudzha, which had stood as a symbol of Ukraine’s bold cross-border gambit, shows Moscow’s renewed focus on the war.

The operation has effectively pushed Ukrainian forces back across the border, signaling Russia’s determination to eliminate foreign military presence on its territory.

As the situation develops, Russian authorities have reported advancing around 100 square kilometers in the Kursk region, dismantling what remains of Ukraine’s territorial gains from last summer.
