(DailyEmailNews.com) – Prompting a stunning investigation two months after the November 2024 election, nearly 200 uncounted absentee ballots were discovered in Madison, Wisconsin.
Even though President-elect Donald Trump won this key battleground state, this alarming oversight has sparked outrage.
The incident raises serious questions about the integrity of the electoral process and the competence of liberal election officials.
The Wisconsin Elections Commission unanimously voted to investigate whether Madison City Clerk Maribeth Witzel-Behl violated state law or abused her discretion.
This unprecedented move marks the commission’s first investigation since it was created in 2016, underscoring the gravity of the situation.
Commission Chair Ann Jacobs did not mince words when addressing the severity of the oversight.
“I thought this was so egregious that it’s important we move immediately,” Jacobs stated, highlighting the urgency of the matter.
The uncounted ballots were discovered in courier bags in vote tabulating machines and during reconciliation processes in three city wards.
This discovery came well after the election results were certified on November 29, raising alarming questions about the transparency and efficiency of Madison’s election procedures.
“We are the final canvassers. We are the final arbiters of votes in the state of Wisconsin and we need to know why those ballots weren’t included anywhere,” Jacobs continued.
Adding to the scandal, it was revealed that Witzel-Behl had previously sent out up to 2,000 duplicate absentee ballots due to a data processing error in September.
This pattern of incompetence in a liberal stronghold, where Kamala Harris won 75% of the vote in Dane County, raises serious concerns about potential bias and mismanagement.
The lack of transparency surrounding this incident is equally troubling. Madison Mayor Satya Rhodes-Conway was not informed of the problem until December 20, nearly two months after the election.
“My biggest concern is why it took a month and a half for this to come out,” Republican commissioner Don Millis stated.
While officials claim the uncounted ballots did not affect the outcome of any race or referendum, the incident erodes public trust in the electoral system.
The upcoming spring primary elections on February 18 make this investigation all the more urgent.
