(DailyEmailNews.com) – In a strategic move to capture the Arab American vote in Michigan, UFC fighters are stepping into the political arena by championing GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump.
These hard-hitting octagon champions are now fighting for Trump’s return to the White House, citing his role as a peacemaker in the Middle East.
UFC stars Justin Gaethje, Beneil Dariush and Henry Cejudo have endorsed Trump, which could be the knockout punch needed in this crucial battleground state.
Sponsored by the Conservative Middle Eastern political-action committee (PAC), the event took place in a major Arab banquet hall in the Detroit area and aimed to register Arab-American voters as Republicans.
Known for his fighting style, Gaethje showed a softer side as he addressed the crowd. “I do get punched in the head for a living, so I have written some words,” Gaethje quipped, drawing laughter from the audience.
Dariush, who is an Assyrian Christian from Iran, delivered a powerful message about Trump’s actions against ISIS.
“Assyrians and Chaldeans are brothers,” Dariush declared, highlighting the unity Trump’s policies brought to diverse Middle Eastern communities.
“I saw the things he did in the Middle East, where he stopped ISIS, where he stopped bombing just random people like [former President Barack] Obama was doing,” Dariush added.
Meanwhile, Cejudo wore a “Trump For Peace” T-shirt and connected with the audience by sharing his immigrant experiences.
As a Latino-American, Cejudo’s endorsement of Trump sends a clear message that the former president’s appeal is reaching a critical Democrat demographic.
“I think Donald Trump brought four years of peace,” said the fighters’ manager and event organizer Ali Abdelaziz.
“Now you see the whole world has war: in Gaza, Syria, Iraq, Lebanon, now Iran. The whole world is going crazy because I don’t think the people respect the leadership of the United States right now,” Abdelaziz added.
The impact of this UFC endorsement can already be felt. Arab-American activist Oubai Shahbandar noted the positive effect on Trump’s polling numbers in Michigan.
A recent survey by Trafalgar Group shows Trump and Harris tied in the state, indicating that the message of peace and stability is resonating with voters.
