Trump’s Pick for Counterterrorism Chief Slammed – Details (Video)

Donald Trump in suit and tie.

(DailyEmailNews.com) – In a potential problem with one of President-elect Donald Trump’s nominees, John Bolton, former National Security Adviser, has taken a stand against Sebastian Gorka’s consideration for a high-profile counterterrorism role.

Bolton called Gorka a “con man” in a candid interview, raising concerns about Gorka’s qualifications.

With national security on the line, such strong opposition poses critical questions about the future of U.S. counterterrorism efforts.

In his critique on CNN, Bolton did not mince words, asserting that Gorka lacks the necessary credentials for a significant national security position.

He has called for a full FBI field background investigation into Gorka, particularly concerning his educational claims.

Bolton’s unwavering stance reflects deep-seated worries about the impact of Trump’s choices on the nation’s security.

Gorka served as deputy assistant to the president for a brief seven months during Trump’s first term before his exit in August 2017.

It was reportedly due to John Kelly’s opposition when he took over as White House Chief of Staff.

Despite this, Trump praised Gorka as a “tireless advocate for the America First Agenda and the MAGA Movement” in his recent nomination announcement.

“Sebastian Gorka is a con man. I wouldn’t have him in any U.S. government,” John Bolton stated.

The Democrat National Committee has also voiced concerns, labeling Gorka as a “far-right extremist” far from qualified for a senior counterterrorism role.

However, Trump’s decision to overlook traditional FBI background checks brings urgency to the discussion about the accountability of critical appointments.

Gorka’s history, laced with contentious affiliations like the Hungarian nationalist group Vitézi Rend, adds fuel to the fire.

Critics question his expertise on Islamic extremism due to a lack of academic and professional credibility, including a PhD endorsed by far-right figures, and no substantial military or intelligence experience.

“Up until a few hours ago, I would have said that was the worst Cabinet appointment in recent American history,” Bolton added.

Bolton, never shy to voice his criticisms of Trump’s administration, underscores the gravity of appointing trustworthy individuals to vital roles like counterterrorism.
