(DailyEmailNews.com) – Although the left claims to champion civility, NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” (SNL) has crossed a line that should never be crossed in American politics.
The show’s recent skit mocking assassination attempts on GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump is not just distasteful; it is a dangerous normalization of political violence.
The Trump campaign rightfully condemned this disgraceful attempt at humor, highlighting the left’s apparent disregard for the safety of conservative leaders.
During SNL’s season premiere, the show stooped to new lows by featuring a skit that made light of two recent assassination attempts on Trump.
These were not fictional scenarios dreamed up by comedy writers; they were real events where American lives were at risk.
In July, a bullet grazed Trump’s ear, one bystander was killed and two others were injured at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. Just two months later, another attempt was made at a Florida golf course.
The Trump campaign swiftly responded to this tasteless display on social media platform X, stating, “There were two assassination attempts against President Trump within a span of seven weeks. @nbcsnl apparently finds that funny. Disgusting.”

This is not just about a joke falling flat; it is about the lamestream media’s continued effort to desensitize the public to threats against conservative figures.
The hypocrisy is palpable: the left would condemn conservatives if a rightwing show made similar jokes about attempts on a liberal politician’s life.
The show’s blatant disrespect did not stop there. It went on to mock Melania Trump for rightfully pointing out the Democrats’ role in inciting violence.
SNL’s James Austin Johnson, portraying Trump, said, “They say that me blaming Democrats for inciting violence is the pot calling the kettle black. But frankly, I didn’t know the kettle was Black until very recently. I thought the kettle was Indian but then she decided to turn Black.”
This attempt at humor not only trivializes serious concerns about political violence but also manages to inject race-baiting into the mix.
Meanwhile, the show seemed to have no problem poking fun at other political figures, including Kamala Harris and Joe Biden.
Maya Rudolph, portraying Harris, kicked off the cold open with a quip, while Dana Carvey’s Biden character joked, “A lot of people forget I’m President, including me.”
The stark contrast in treatment is telling: gentle ribbing for Democrats, dangerous mockery for Trump.
It is clear that SNL and its parent company NBC have abandoned any pretense of fairness or decency when it comes to conservative figures, especially Trump.
Their willingness to joke about assassination attempts is not just a new low for comedy – it is a dangerous precedent that could have real-world consequences.
