Trump Says It’s Not True

( – Refuting claims about a potential running mate, former President Donald Trump recently used his Truth Social platform to deny he was considering former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley as his vice-presidential candidate for the 2024 election.

This response came after Axios reported that Haley was under “active consideration,” a statement they later adjusted.

The initial Axios report discussed sources suggesting that Trump’s campaign might approach Haley to help close a campaign funding gap with Biden.

The report also claimed Haley would assist with Trump’s legal and financial issues stemming from ongoing court cases.

However, the idea of Haley as a running mate has not been well received by Trump’s supporters.

As reported by Politico, Even Donald Trump Jr. expressed strong opposition by stating on Newsmax that he would “go to great lengths” to prevent her from being selected as his father’s running mate.

Although Haley was a key member of Trump’s team as his UN Ambassador, she went on the offensive against Trump during her own presidential campaign.

She ended her efforts on March 6, 2024, which likely alienated her from the former president’s inner circle.

Although there has been some speculation that Trump is favoring a female running mate, Haley’s chances seemed slim from the beginning, while South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem’s popularity declined after she revealed she shot her pet dog.

During her brief presidential run, Haley only managed to win in the District of Columbia.

She performed poorly across the Republican primaries and even trailed behind “none of these candidates” in Nevada, according to RealClearPolitics.

Trump has been relatively quiet about his actual choice for a running mate, though he hinted that he has already made a decision.

Possible candidates rumored to be in the running include entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, Florida Senator Marco Rubio, South Carolina Senator Tim Scott and even Hawaii’s former Democratic Representative Tulsi Gabbard, as reported by Spectrum News NY1.
