(DailyEmailNews.com) – Cutting off a costly benefit that extended far beyond its entitlement period, President Donald Trump has ended taxpayer-funded Secret Service protection for Hunter and Ashley Biden.
The decisive action comes after revelations that Hunter was vacationing in South Africa with an excessive and expensive 18-agent security detail while American citizens struggle with inflation.
President Donald Trump announced the immediate termination of Secret Service protection on Truth Social.
He did so after learning about the extraordinary number of agents assigned to protect the Biden children despite the fact that such protection typically ends when a president leaves office.
“Hunter Biden has had Secret Service protection for an extended period of time, all paid for by the United States Taxpayer,” President Trump stated in his announcement.
The decision came after a reporter questioned the president about reports that Hunter was traveling in South Africa with 18 Secret Service agents.
Seemingly unaware of the situation until that moment, President Trump promised to review the matter immediately. Hours later, he took decisive action.
According to White House sources, Ashley Biden had been receiving protection from 13 agents, an extraordinarily large security detail.
Standard protocol only provides Secret Service protection to children of former presidents until they leave office, with temporary extensions limited to six months.
“Please be advised that, effective immediately, Hunter Biden will no longer receive Secret Service protection. Likewise, Ashley Biden who has 13 agents will be taken off the list,” the president wrote.
President Trump further noted that Hunter’s ongoing vacation in South Africa was particularly troubling.
The country has recently been removed from the list of nations receiving U.S. economic and financial assistance due to its questionable human rights practices.
The situation raised further questions about why American taxpayers were funding luxury protection for the Biden family’s international travels.
Both President Trump and Joe Biden had extended Secret Service protection for their children for six months after leaving office.
But Biden apparently continued this protection well beyond the customary timeframe.
Former presidents and their spouses receive lifelong protection, but their adult children are not entitled to the same benefit.
The move is being praised by fiscal conservatives who have long criticized the special treatment afforded to political elites.
The Secret Service has not commented on the operational details of the protection that was being provided to the Biden children or the costs associated with maintaining such large security details.
White House officials indicated this is part of a broader effort to cut government waste and ensure taxpayer dollars are spent responsibly.
The administration continues to review other potential areas where government resources may be being misused for political purposes.
