(DailyEmailNews.com) – President-elect Donald Trump just declared “a great day for America” after learning about FBI Director Christopher Wray’s decision to quit his post in the coming days.

Trump wasted no time to share his thoughts on Wray’s resignation on his Truth Social platform.

“The resignation of Christopher Wray is a great day for America as it will end the Weaponization of what has become known as the United States Department of Injustice…We will now restore the Rule of Law for all Americans,” Trump said.

Wray, who has faced criticism for mishandling sensitive investigations, will step down in January as Trump prepares to take office.

Wray announced his resignation plans during an FBI town hall in Washington, D.C., citing the need to avoid further politicization within the bureau.

His decision came after “weeks of careful thought” to maintain focus on the FBI’s core tasks.

Wray stated:

“My goal is to keep the focus on our mission — the indispensable work you’re doing on behalf of the American people every day. In my view, this is the best way to avoid dragging the bureau deeper into the fray, while reinforcing the values and principles that are so important to how we do our work.”

Wray’s tenure as FBI Director has been marked by controversy, particularly in his relationship with Trump.

The President-elect has been vocal about his discontent with Wray, especially following the FBI’s search of Mar-a-Lago for classified documents. “I can’t say I’m thrilled with him. He invaded my home,” Trump remarked.

Throughout his directorship, Wray attempted to distance himself from the FBI’s Russia investigation and implemented over 40 corrective actions to improve the bureau’s warrant application process.

However, his efforts to maintain independence often put him at odds with the White House.

Wray’s departure allows Trump to reshape the FBI’s leadership. The President-elect has already nominated Kash Patel, a known loyalist, to succeed Wray.

This change in leadership could signal a shift toward a more aligned FBI that addresses concerns about government overreach.

Deputy Director Paul Abbate will serve as acting director upon Wray’s departure until a new director is confirmed.

However, Abbate, a career official, is also planning to retire soon, potentially allowing for a complete overhaul of the FBI’s top leadership.

For many Trump supporters, Wray’s resignation represents an opportunity to restore trust in the FBI.

The bureau has faced criticism for its handling of high-profile cases and alleged political bias, leading to calls for reform.

As the transition unfolds, the focus will be on how the new leadership under Patel, if confirmed, will address concerns about the FBI’s impartiality and commitment to upholding the law without political influence.

Many hope this change will lead to a more transparent and accountable FBI that truly serves the American people and protects their constitutional rights.
