(DailyEmailNews.com) – Donald Trump’s opponents are getting desperate in their attempts to prevent him from retaking the White House, as the GOP presidential nominee’s campaign headquarters in Ashburn, Virginia, was recently burglarized.
See a photo of the suspect below.
The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) confirmed that they have obtained surveillance footage showing the suspect involved in the incident.
LCSO described the suspect in a media release as an adult white male dressed in dark attire and a black cap.
He was seen carrying a yellow backpack on his front. He was captured on camera walking past a wall adorned with an American flag and a Trump poster.
The local sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the campaign office after receiving a report of the burglary.
The specifics of what was stolen, if anything, remain unclear as the investigation is still underway.
“It is rare to have the office of any political campaign or party broken into,” Sheriff Mike Chapman stated.
“We are determined to identify the suspect, investigate why it happened, and determine what may have been taken as well as what may have been left behind,” he added.
The building, which serves as both the Trump campaign office and the headquarters for the Virginia 10th District Republican Committee, is under scrutiny as authorities continue to probe the burglary.
This incident follows a recent security breach involving the Trump campaign’s internal communications.
Specifically, said communications were reportedly compromised by a hostile foreign entity believed to be connected to the Iranian armed forces.
According to a Microsoft intelligence report and claims by the Trump campaign, this breach involved a spear-phishing attack on a high-ranking campaign official in June.
The stolen information was later shared with Politico in late July.
