Trump Gets GREAT News on Debate Day

DONALD TRUMP

(DailyEmailNews.com) – Debate day started off on the right foot for Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump as a recent survey put him ahead of Democrat Kamala Harris in the battleground states of North Carolina and Georgia.

A new Florida Atlantic University/Mainstreet Research USA poll found that white college graduates seem to be a key factor in Trump’s lead in these crucial states.

The FAU poll indicates that Trump has a slight edge in North Carolina, with 48% to Harris’ 47%, and in Georgia, he is up 47% to 45%.

This poll is just the latest in a series that suggests Trump has the upper hand as the candidates gear up for their first presidential debate tonight.

This shift comes after pollster Nate Silver indicated Trump was leading Harris across all key battleground states.

Similarly, the RealClearPolitics average also shows Trump slightly ahead of Harris in both North Carolina and Georgia.

In particular, Trump’s lead among white college graduates is significant: he leads Harris 55% to 40% in Georgia and 50% to 47% in North Carolina.

However, Harris holds the lead over Trump among independent voters in both states. In North Carolina, she leads 48% to 43%, and in Georgia by 44% to 40%.

The Post also highlights some uncertainty among independents, with 10% in Georgia and 8% in North Carolina still undecided.

Moreover, early indications suggest Trump might be receiving more cross-party support than Harris, a factor that could play into the overall campaign dynamics.

As the election approaches, the battle remains fierce. FAU political science professor Kevin Wagner noted, “The close distribution of support between the two major party candidates suggests that Georgia and North Carolina remain highly competitive.”

He pointed out that the relatively small number of undecided voters could be decisive, especially in such a close race.

The FAU survey included 647 registered voters in Georgia and 692 in North Carolina, conducted on September 5-6, with a margin of error of +/- 3.9 percentage points in Georgia and +/- 3.7 points in North Carolina, each with a 95% confidence level.
