(DailyEmailNews.com) – Raising questions about the fairness of the event, GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump remained evasive regarding his appearance in the upcoming ABC-hosted debate next month with Kamala Harris.
On Truth Social, Trump expressed his dissatisfaction with the network’s panel and criticized an interview that Jonathan Karl of ABC News conducted with Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR) on “This Week.”
He questioned the reasoning for participating in a debate on a network he sees as biased.
“I watched ABC FAKE NEWS this morning, both lightweight reporter Jonathan Carl’s(K?) ridiculous and biased interview of Tom Cotton (who was fantastic!), and their so-called Panel of Trump Haters, and I ask, why would I do the Debate against Kamala Harris on that network?” Trump posted.
He also brought up a past incident involving “This Week” panelist Donna Brazile, who had previously leaked town hall questions to Hillary Clinton’s campaign in 2016.
Trump asserts that this raises questions about fairness in his upcoming debate with Harris.
Additionally, Trump wondered whether George Stephanopoulos would be involved in the debate due to ongoing litigation between them.
However, there is no evidence suggesting Stephanopoulos will play a significant role in the event.
“They’ve got a lot of questions to answer!!!” Trump asserted. “Why did Harris turn down Fox, NBC, CBS, and even CNN? Stay tuned!!!”
Trump had previously confirmed his participation in an ABC News-hosted debate with Joe Biden set for September 10.
However, after Biden was replaced by Harris on the Democrat ticket, Trump hinted at possibly backing out.
Ultimately, both parties agreed to proceed with the ABC News debate on the settled date.
While Trump advocated for more debates on networks like Fox News and NBC News within the same month, the Harris campaign maintained they would only commit to the ABC News debate before considering a second one.
According to the network, the debate is scheduled for September 10 in Philadelphia and will be moderated by David Muir and Linsey Davis.
