(DailyEmailNews.com) – Fulfilling a campaign promise, President Donald Trump has pardoned over 1,500 Americans who were prosecuted for their involvement in the January 6 Capitol protest.

This unprecedented move restores freedom to those who questioned the integrity of the 2020 election.

Trump’s sweeping clemency order includes full pardons for individuals convicted of assaulting police officers and leaders of groups like the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers.

The president has long maintained that these defendants were treated unfairly by a corrupt Justice Department bent on punishing Trump supporters.

“These are the hostages, approximately 1,500 for a pardon, full pardon. This is a big one,” Trump declared, emphasizing the significance of his action.

He added, “These people have been destroyed. What they’ve done to these people is outrageous. There’s rarely been anything like it in the history of our country.”

The pardons have been met with glee from supporters and defense attorneys.

James Lee Bright, a lawyer representing some of the defendants, expressed gratitude: “We are deeply thankful for President Trump for his actions today.”

In addition to the pardons, Trump ordered the dismissal of approximately 450 pending cases related to the Capitol protest.

This decisive action has been deemed as putting an end to the relentless pursuit of citizens by a weaponized justice system.

Trump described the move as ending a “grave national injustice” and starting “national reconciliation.”

Notable figures receiving pardons include Oath Keepers founder Stewart Rhodes and former Proud Boys leader Henry “Enrique” Tarrio.

Both men faced severe charges for their alleged roles in the events of January 6.

Their pardons have been labeled a powerful rebuke to those who would criminalize political dissent.

The president’s sweeping pardons follow a series of pardons Joe Biden issued just before vacating the Withe House.

Biden issued pre-emptive pardons for his family and committee members investigating the January 6 protest, shielding them from potential future prosecution.

For some, President Trump’s pardons mark a turning point in American history by reaffirming the right of citizens to question their government and peacefully protest perceived injustices.
