(DailyEmailNews.com) – After a ban threatened to curtail free speech and devastate millions of American small businesses, President Donald Trump came to TikTok’s rescue.

In a bold move against arbitrary censorship, Trump announced plans for an executive order to prevent a federal ban on the popular social media app, allowing it to resume services in the United States.

This decision protects the First Amendment rights of over 170 million American users and supports more than 7 million small businesses that rely on TikTok for promotional activities.

TikTok went dark for 14 hours due to a law requiring it to split from its China-based owner, ByteDance. It is now in the process of restoring service to U.S. users.

Apple and Google previously removed TikTok from app stores following its temporary shutdown, causing disruptions for users and businesses alike.

Although legal experts warn about potential liabilities for service providers, the app’s return follows President Trump’s actions.

“We thank President Trump for providing the necessary clarity and assurance to our service providers that they will face no penalties providing TikTok,” a company spokesperson stated.

“It’s a strong stand for the First Amendment and against arbitrary censorship. We will work with President Trump on a long-term solution that keeps TikTok in the United States,” the spokesperson continued.

Trump’s decision to save TikTok stands in contrast to the previous administration’s stance.

Joe Biden’s administration had planned to enforce a ban on the app, citing national security concerns.

However, Trump’s pro-business approach prioritized the interests of American users and small businesses that have come to rely on the platform.

“I’m asking companies not to let TikTok stay dark! The order will also confirm that there will be no liability for any company that helped keep TikTok from going dark before my order,” Trump declared.

The President showcased his commitment to protecting American businesses and free speech with his actions.

Taking a step further, Trump expressed a desire for the U.S. to have a stake in a joint venture with TikTok, signaling a strategic approach to the platform’s ownership.

Despite legal debates, the President’s plan suggests a 90-day extension before any ban, setting the stage for more discussions on national security and economic interests.

However, Trump’s decision has not been without controversy. Some lawmakers, including Senator Tom Cotton, have questioned Trump’s authority to delay the law’s enforcement.

In turn, Trump’s supporters argue that his executive action is necessary to protect American interests and prevent the arbitrary censorship of a popular platform.

Additionally, TikTok’s commitment to working with the Trump administration on a long-term solution shows the company’s willingness to address concerns while maintaining its services.

As TikTok resumes its services in the U.S., millions of users and small businesses can breathe a sigh of relief.
