(DailyEmailNews.com) – Fans across the world are grappling with the unexpected loss of former My Chemical Romance drummer Bob Bryar.
The circumstances surrounding 44-year-old Bryar’s untimely passing remain unclear as he was found dead in his Tennessee home in an advanced state of decomposition.
He had last been seen alive on November 4, signaling he may have been dead for weeks before being found.
While the cause of death is currently unknown, law enforcement officials have stated they do not suspect foul play.
The band posted a heartfelt message on Instagram about Bryar’s passing: “It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to Bob Bryar, our former bandmate and an important part of the history of My Chemical Romance.”
“We send our deepest condolences to his friends and family at this time. May he rest in peace,” it added.
The drummer’s unexpected death has left fans and fellow musicians grappling with shock and grief.
Bryar joined My Chemical Romance in 2004, replacing original drummer Matt Pelissier, and became the band’s longest-serving drummer until his departure in 2010.
During his tenure, the group achieved major success, including the release of their quadruple platinum album “The Black Parade.”
Still, Bryar faced significant challenges during his time with My Chemical Romance.
He sustained third-degree burns during the filming of the “Famous Last Words” music video, forcing the group to cancel performances.
In March 2010, he left the band due to medical issues, a decision that apparently took a toll on his mental health.
After leaving the band, Bryar struggled with depression and suicidal thoughts. He eventually found a new purpose working in real estate and supporting animal rescue efforts.
His love for animals even saw him auctioning his drum set in 2021 to raise funds for a rescue center.
The drummer’s passing comes as My Chemical Romance announced a “Long Live” tour for 2025, though Bryar was not scheduled to participate.
