Shock Election Poll

(DailyEmailNews.com) – The political climate is heating up, as a shocking election poll shows that voters seem to favor Kamala Harris over GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump in terms of honesty and discipline.

The Associated Press/NORC Research Center survey revealed that almost half of Americans see Harris as “committed to democracy” and “disciplined,” while only about 30% say the same for Trump.

Additionally, around 40% view Harris as “honest,” with less than 25% assigning honesty to Trump.

The poll also indicates that around 40% of respondents believe Harris “cares about people like you,” compared to about 30% for Trump.

These perceptions emerge as Harris narrowly leads Trump in the polls.

Harris has gained traction from her presidential campaign’s honeymoon period, which has energized Democratic supporters for the upcoming November elections.

The battle between the campaigns has heated up, as Trump’s team labeled Harris as ineffective and untrustworthy while Harris’ side portrays her as a strong and capable leader.

Although Trump’s campaign has presented him as a decisive leader, the poll shows that about 40% of respondents see both him and Harris as strong leaders and capable in a crisis.

When it comes to specific issues, Trump leads on topics like the economy and immigration, whereas Harris holds the edge on health care, abortion policy and racial issues.

Enthusiasm among Democrats has noticeably shifted towards Harris, especially since Joe Biden withdrew from the race.

About two-thirds of Democrats said they were eager to vote in November, a significant jump from 40% in March.

Lisa Miller, a student from Elko, Nevada, noted, “Trump had a better chance when Joe Biden was running. I think a lot of people who were insecure about Joe Biden are more secure with Kamala Harris’ age and cognitive abilities.”

While Trump is more trusted by Americans to handle the economy and immigration, the margins are narrow—45% favor Trump for the economy, versus 38% for Harris.

Similarly, the gap is small on immigration. Independents particularly lean towards Trump on these economic issues.

San Francisco-based artist Howard Barnes stated he preferred Trump over Harris on border issues, noting, “She doesn’t really seem to be proactive about it or even interested in it.”

The survey was conducted from August 8-12, 2024, involved 1,164 adults and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.8 percentage points.
