(DailyEmailNews.com) – Once hailed as a defender of Jewish interest, Democrat Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer is accused of being a traitor for stifling free speech following a report that he advised Columbia University to ignore criticism regarding antisemitism on campus.

The House Education and Workforce Committee’s GOP-led investigation has uncovered disturbing details about Schumer’s behind-the-scenes maneuvering.

According to the report, Schumer assured Columbia’s then-president Minouche Shafik that the university would avoid scrutiny from Democrats if they kept their heads down and ignored criticism of their response to campus antisemitism following Hamas’ October 7 massacre in Israel.

This apparent betrayal of Jewish students’ safety has sparked outrage among conservative voices.

Former Brooklyn state Assemblyman Dov Hikind did not mince words, labeling Schumer a “kapo traitor,” a term laden with historical weight, referring to Jews who collaborated with Nazis during the Holocaust.

University trustees reportedly mocked the committee’s review, expressing hope for Democrat control of Congress to evade accountability.

This infamous attitude toward antisemitism on campus is a slap in the face to Jewish students who have faced threats and violence.

While Schumer’s spokesperson denied the allegations, claiming the Senator has consistently condemned antisemitic acts, the evidence suggested otherwise.

The report also revealed that Ivy League leaders, including those at Columbia, intentionally omitted language condemning Hamas’ violence from official statements.

Jewish students at Columbia have faced a barrage of threats and harassment, as anti-Israel demonstrators have defaced property and engaged in disruptive activities, creating an atmosphere of fear and intimidation.

Yet, Columbia’s leadership felt emboldened to avoid meetings with Republicans after receiving Schumer’s support.

Head of the Columbia Jewish Alumni Association, Ari Shrage, said, “The report is more evidence of what we already knew: Columbia did not do their job to prevent antisemitism on campus.”

As the highest-ranking Jewish elected official in America, his apparent willingness to sacrifice the safety and well-being of Jewish students for political expediency is nothing short of a betrayal.
