RFK Jr. Attacks Biden, Trump, and CNN

(DailyEmailNews.com) – In an infuriating move, independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has equated Donald Trump with Joe Biden and CNN as he has filed a formal complaint with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) targeting them for alleged election law violations.

Both Trump and Biden have consented to participate in two debates; CNN will host the first on June 27 and ABC the second on September 10.

Despite polling at 10.4% in the RealClearPolitics average that also includes Trump, Biden, Green Party candidate Jill Stein, and independent Cornel West, Kennedy has not been invited to these debates, The Daily Caller points out in a report.

“By demanding our campaign meet different criteria to participate in the debate than Presidents Biden and Trump, CNN’s debate violates FEC law and is a large prohibited corporate contribution to both the Biden and Trump campaigns,” RFK Jr. stated.

The complaint from Kennedy’s campaign elaborates on this accusation.

“CNN colluded with the Biden Committee and the Trump Committee to schedule and did schedule a debate with criteria that were designed to result in the selection of certain pre-chosen participants, namely Biden and Trump, in a clear breach of federal campaign finance law,” it reads.

It further suggests that the evidence points conclusively to CNN making unauthorized corporate contributions to both campaigns, with both the Biden and Trump committees accepting these contributions, thereby infringing upon federal campaign finance law.

In the most recent polls from RealClearPolitics, Trump holds a slight edge over Biden, leading by 1.1% in a direct matchup. This lead expands to 1.8% when including Stein, Kennedy, and West.

Kennedy’s team further contends that neither Trump nor Biden have yet been officially nominated by their parties, and therefore their participation in the upcoming election is not confirmed.

According to the complaint, “If the Democratic Party nominates Mr. Biden as its presidential candidate, this will not happen until the Democratic Party National Convention in August 2024. If the Republican Party nominates Mr. Trump as its presidential candidate, it will not do so until the Republican Party National Convention in July 2024.”

It highlights that these conventions will occur well after CNN’s debate qualifications deadline and the actual debate date.

Comments from both camps reflect the contentious nature of the issue. Former President Trump directed inquiries to a statement on Truth Social.

“Crooked Joe Biden does not want RFK Jr. in the debates because Junior is far left him and they would be debating over the same territory, like ridiculous Open Borders and the Green New Scam, both of which are killing our Country,” Trump wrote there.

Trump’s campaign national spokesperson, Karoline Leavitt, further labeled Kennedy as a “radical leftist and environmental whack job,” arguing that Kennedy poses a significant threat to Biden, not Trump.

“The law in virtually every state provides that the nominee of a state-recognized political party will be allowed ballot access without petitioning. As the presumptive nominees of their parties both Biden and Trump will satisfy this requirement. As an independent candidate, under applicable laws RFK, Jr. does not,” a CNN spokesperson commented.
