Prince Harry, Meghan Announce New Journey

(DailyEmailNews.com) – Next month, Princе Harry and Meghan Markle are planning a trip to Nigeria, which marks their first visit to the country as a couple.

This announcement comеs as 39-year-old Harry prepares to visit the UK alone to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games at London’s St. Paul’s Cathedral on May 8.

The Dukе and Duchess of Sussex, who moved to the United States in 2020 after stepping back from royal duties, were invited by Nigeria’s chief of defense staff, with whom Harry developed a friendship during the Invictus Games in Dusseldorf, Germany, in September.

Launchеd by Harry in 2014, the Invictus Games are a multi-sport event similar to the Paralympics, designed for wounded or injured military personnel and veterans.

During their visit, the couple plans to meet with service members and their families and participate in traditional local customs. The details of their journey will be revealed closer to their flight.

Nigeria’s Defense Headquarters said personnel were thrilled after the Sussexes accepted the invitation for the honor and delight it brings.

Meghan shared on her “Archetypes” podcast that she discovered she is “43% Nigerian” through an ancestry test, which Harry joked about in his speech at last year’s Invictus Games in Germany.

Brigadier General Tukur Gusau stated that the visit aims to strengthen Nigeria’s relationship with the Invictus Games and explore the potential of having Nigeria host the games in the future.

Misan Harriman, a close friend and the couple’s preferred photographer, hinted on X that he might also go with them, symbolizing this with a heart and flag emoji.

This trip adds to the limited number of international activities the pair has take part in since they resigned from their senior royal roles, including trips to Jamaica for the “One Love” Bob Marley biopic premiere and visits to Canada, the Netherlands and Germany for the Invictus Games.
