(DailyEmailNews.com) – The world’s largest state sponsor of terrorism has scored a huge win as the Biden-Harris administration has openly admitted to enriching Iran through relaxed sanctions and increased oil revenues.
This shocking revelation comes amid escalating tensions in the Middle East, with Iran-backed groups like Hamas and Hezbollah launching vicious attacks against Israel and U.S. interests.
The administration’s policies have not only empowered a dangerous enemy but also potentially sped up Iran’s nuclear ambitions.
Under President Donald Trump’s “maximum pressure” campaign, Iran’s oil revenues plummeted.
However, the Biden-Harris administration’s approach has allowed Iran’s petroleum exports to skyrocket.
Iranian oil revenues jumped from $37 billion in 2021 to $54 billion in 2022 and remained high at $53 billion in 2023.
Crude oil and condensate exports more than doubled, rising from 704,000 barrels per day in 2018 to over 1.3 million in 2023.
This alarming increase in Iran’s wealth has not gone unnoticed by conservative lawmakers.
Congresswoman Elise Stefanik, Senator Tom Cotton and other Republican leaders have sent a scathing letter to Joe Biden, condemning the administration’s “policy of appeasement” toward Iran.
Stefanik wrote, “From refusing to enforce sanctions on Iranian oil exports to rolling back Trump-era policy that prohibited UNRWA from receiving U.S. taxpayer dollars, the Biden-Harris Administration has enabled Iran to increase its enriched uranium stockpiles and drastically cut down its nuclear breakout time.”
“The Biden-Harris policy of appeasement that is endangering the United States and our allies including Israel must end,” she added.
The lawmakers’ letter highlights a series of missteps by the Biden-Harris administration.
It listed their weak response to attacks by Iranian-backed militias on U.S. troops, the removal of the Houthis from the terrorist list and the restoration of funding to the Palestinian Authority and UNRWA.
These actions have not only empowered Iranian proxies but also weakened Israel, a key U.S. ally and Iran’s chief adversary.
The impact on Iran’s nuclear capabilities also raises concerns. The letter states, “When President Trump left office, it would have taken Iran more than three months to enrich enough uranium for a single nuclear weapon.”
“Under your watch, Iran may have slashed its breakout time by more than 90 percent and increased its stockpile of enriched uranium enough to build a nuclear arsenal of more than a dozen weapons in that time,” the letter continued.
As Foundation for Defense of Democracies senior fellow Richard Goldberg puts it, this revelation is not just “totally insane” but a clear and present danger to American interests and global security.
