
(DailyEmailNews.com) – Taking decisive action to secure America’s southern border, President Donald Trump has deployed 1,500 active-duty troops to combat illegal immigration and drug trafficking.

Specifically, The Pentagon is deploying 1,500 active-duty troops to the U.S.-Mexico border under Trump’s executive orders.
This deployment includes 1,000 Army soldiers and 500 Marines, along with helicopters and intelligence analysts, to assist with immigration control and border security operations.
The troops will play a crucial role in supporting Border Patrol efforts by flying helicopters, constructing barriers and providing military aircraft for deportation flights.
This move is part of Trump’s broader plan to use military resources for border security and address the ongoing issue of illegal immigration.
“I will declare a national emergency at our southern border. All illegal entry will immediately be halted, and we will begin the process of returning millions and millions of criminal aliens back to the places in which they came,” the president recently said.
Acting Defense Secretary Robert Salesses emphasized the significance of this deployment, stating, “This is just the beginning.”
“The president directed me to take all appropriate action to support the activities of the secretary of Homeland Security in obtaining complete operational control of the southern border of the United States,” Salesses explained.
He further added, “In short order, the department will develop and execute additional missions in cooperation with DHS, federal agencies, and state partners to address the full range of threats outlined by the President at our nation’s borders.”
Although the Posse Comitatus Act prohibits troops from performing law enforcement duties, the deployment allows military personnel to provide crucial logistical support to Border Patrol, including transportation, medical care and temporary housing.
This strategic use of military resources seeks to ease the strain on existing border operations and enhance overall security.
The deployment aligns with Trump’s campaign promises and his directive to “seal the borders” and address “unlawful mass migration.”
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt emphasized, “This comes off [Trump’s] day one action…to direct the Defense Department to make homeland security a core mission of the agency.”
As part of this thorough approach to border security, the Coast Guard is also increasing its presence in the Gulf of Mexico, which Trump has renamed the “Gulf of America.”
This complex strategy aims to address not only illegal immigration but also drug trafficking and transnational crime at the border.
While some immigrant rights groups have protested the deployment, millions of Americans see this as a necessary step to protect the nation’s sovereignty and ensure communities remain safe.
Additional troops and expanded roles in cooperation with DHS and other agencies are possible as the mission unfolds.
