(DailyEmailNews.com) – Adding a new layer of concern regarding the conservative leader, U.S. intelligence officials have informed GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump about credible threats from Iran planning to assassinate him.
Trump campaign spokesperson Steven Cheung disclosed that high-level U.S. intelligence officials recently briefed Trump on the specific and credible assassination threats.
The briefing by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence underscored the critical nature of these threats, which seek to create chaos within the U.S.
These revelations point to ongoing geopolitical tensions between the U.S. and Iran, and such risks cannot be taken lightly.
Law enforcement officials stress that they are working tirelessly to ensure Trump’s safety and the integrity of the upcoming elections.
Increased security measures have been implemented, as the Secret Service has boosted protection around Trump following this intelligence report.
The Office of the Director of National Intelligence confirmed the thorough briefing but refrained from providing detailed specifics of the threats.
Meanwhile, Iranian officials have remained silent, refusing to comment on these severe allegations.
This is not the first time Trump’s life has been in danger. Back in July, a 20-year-old assailant attempted to assassinate the former president at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
Though no confirmed links to Iran’s plot were established, it sent shockwaves through the nation.
Just last week, a second assassination attempt was foiled after a Secret Service agent opened fire on a man who was hiding at Trump’s golf club while sporting a rifle.
This pattern of threats also reached Congress, which responded by passing a bill to provide the same level of protection to major presidential candidates as the sitting President.
The bill is currently awaiting Joe Biden’s signature, underscoring the seriousness of the situation.
This new development follows previous cyber threats. Earlier this year, Trump’s campaign accused Iran of a hacking attempt, which U.S. agencies confirmed in June.
Iranian actors attempted to infiltrate Trump’s campaign and distribute documents to Biden’s campaign associates. However, Iran dismissed the accusations as baseless.
