(DailyEmailNews.com) – Today is a sad day for news TV as beloved Fox News contributor and medical expert Dr. Kelly Powers died at 45 after a long battle with brain cancer.

Born in Yonkers, New York, Dr. Powers was diagnosed with glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer, in 2020.

Despite undergoing multiple surgeries, chemotherapy and radiation treatments, the cancer returned in 2023 after a brief period of remission.

“I was actually diagnosed with heart disease by accident when my gallbladder was failing and I had to have it removed,” Dr. Powers explained.

“That led to my heart being examined and… I couldn’t believe it – here I was in my late 30s, experiencing a health condition that a much older person would be diagnosed with,” she added.

In 2018, Dr. Powers also suffered a dramatic incident on live TV. “It’s crazy – I went into heart failure while doing a report on Fox Business – live – on heart health and talking about the subtle signs that women often miss. You can’t make this up,” she stated.

As a frequent guest on Fox News shows like Red Eye and Fox & Friends, Dr. Powers brought her medical expertise to millions of viewers.

Her appearances on major networks, including Fox Business, CNN, NBC and CBS, showcased her ability to explain complex medical information to a wide audience.

Dr. Powers’ educational background was impressive, with studies at Baruch College, New York College of Podiatric Medicine, University of San Francisco, Georgetown and Boston Universities.

Her successful career as a podiatric surgeon and physician was a testament to her hard work and dedication to her field.

Dr. Powers and her husband, Steven Doll, welcomed their son Bennett via surrogate in 2021.

The event came as a surprise to Dr. Powers. She said, “So, the brain surgeon is wheeling me in to have surgery – he suddenly stops and says, ‘Hey just want to let you know before I put you under, you’re pregnant – the surrogate took and you have a baby boy on the way!'”

When Dr. Powers’ cancer returned in 2023, her friends rallied together to raise nearly $100,000 for an experimental treatment not covered by insurance.

Dr. Powers has left behind a legacy as a dedicated medical professional, loving mother and conservative voice in the media that will not be forgotten.
