Longtime Trump Ally Returns

(DailyEmailNews.com) – Making a triumphal return to help the GOP candidate get elected this fall, former campaign manager and close Donald Trump ally Corey Lewandowski has recently rejoined the former president’s political team.

Lewandowski’s firm received $20,000 last month from the Republican National Committee (RNC) for “management consulting.”

Noted in a recent Federal Election Commission filing, this payment marks the RNC’s first transaction with Lewandowski’s firm this election cycle after Trump’s daughter-in-law was appointed to a key leadership position.

Lewandowski has kept close ties with Trump’s circle over the years. This spring, he was considered for a role related to organizing the Republican National Convention, according to earlier reports from The New York Times.

A spokesperson from the Trump campaign indicated that Lewandowski is currently advising on the “delegate and convention process.”

Known for being involved in some controversies, Lewandowski was Trump’s first campaign manager during the 2016 presidential race.

His career within Trump’s political sphere has been rocky: he has held several positions and was dismissed from a significant role at a pro-Trump super PAC in 2021.

His departure from the PAC followed claims from Trashelle Odom, a significant Trump donor’s wife, who claimed Lewandowski made unwanted sexual advances toward her at a charity event in Las Vegas.

He faced a misdemeanor charge, which was ultimately dismissed after he agreed to complete impulse control counseling, community service and pay a fine as part of a deal with prosecutors.

Paul Manafort, another prominent figure from Trump’s 2016 campaign, was also invited to advise preparations for the upcoming Republican convention.

However, Manafort withdrew from his volunteer position by citing media attention as a “distraction” in a statement to The New York Times.
