(DailyEmailNews.com) – Hollywood actor Kevin Costner has shocked his conservative fans by defending anti-Trump RINO Liz Cheney and praising her for betraying her party.
Praised for his role in Yellowstone, Costner has openly endorsed Cheney, going as far as wearing a pro-Cheney shirt that she proudly shared on Instagram.
This public display of support for a politician who has consistently opposed President-elect Donald Trump’s America First agenda is a slap in the face to conservative fans.
The actor has also hailed Cheney’s role in the politically motivated January 6 committee investigation, which shows he is aligned with the establishment’s witch hunt against Trump and his supporters.
Costner boldly declared, “I didn’t really care how the cookie crumbles, that people that liked me now don’t like me. That’s OK.”
Costner’s defense of Cheney comes despite her crushing defeat in the Wyoming GOP primary to Trump-backed candidate Harriett Hageman.
“Just because you lose doesn’t mean you’re done; it doesn’t mean you’re even wrong,” Costner said.
The actor added, “We should applaud her. We should protect her” since “[he expects] people in government to do the right thing.”
“Public service is about public service. It’s not about your career. It’s not about your ego. Your four years is your four years,” Costner continued.
Costner words have drawn sharp criticism for their perceived hypocrisy. While the actor rushes to defend Cheney from alleged threats, he remains silent on the very real threats conservative voices face across the country.
