Is Walz a Coward? This Senator Thinks So

(DailyEmailNews.com) – After being labeled “Stolen Valor garbage,” Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR) further slammed Democrat vice-presidential nominee Tim Walz for being a coward for not deploying with his unit to Iraq.

“Tim Walz’s unit got orders to Iraq. He could’ve gone with them, but didn’t. He let his troops go to war without him instead,” Cotton said on X.

He also criticized Walz for mishandling the unrest in his state, saying, “Just like he let Minneapolis burn rather than confront the BLM rioters.”

Cotton referenced a video from Republican vice-presidential nominee JD Vance, a former Marine who served in Iraq, in which Vance accused Walz of abandoning his military unit.

“When the United States Marine Corps, when the United States of America asked me to go to Iraq to serve my country, I did it,” Vance said. “I did what they asked me to do and I did it honorably, and I’m very proud of that service.”

He continued his criticism of Walz, stating, “When Tim Walz was asked by his country to go to Iraq, you know what he did? He dropped out of the army and allowed his unit to go without him, a fact that he has been criticized aggressively by a lot of the people that he served with.”

“What bothers me about Tim Walz is the Stolen Valor garbage,” Vance added. “Do not pretend to be something that you’re not.”

Retired Army Command Sergeants Major Thomas Behrends and Paul Herr revealed details about Walz’s military service to support Vance’s claims.

They claimed that Walz “quit” the 1-125th Field Artillery Battalion just as they were preparing to deploy to Iraq in 2005.

They stated, “On May 16th, 2005 he quit, leaving the 1-125th Field Artillery Battalion and its Soldiers hanging; without its senior Non-Commissioned Officer, as the battalion prepared for war.”

They also noted discrepancies in how Walz handled his retirement, suggesting he did so under false pretenses to pursue a political career.

Although Walz retired at the rank of E-8, he claims to have officially retired as a command sergeant major, which is an E-9 rank.

He indeed served as an E-9 shortly through a conditional promotion, but this was later adjusted.

His biography states, “After 24 years in the Army National Guard, Command Sergeant Major Walz retired from the 1-125th Field Artillery Battalion in 2005.”
