Did THIS Upstage Trump and Harris?

KAMALA HARRIS / DONALD TRUMP

(DailyEmailNews.com) – Right after GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump’s debate with Kamala Harris, Taylor Swift attempted to upstage the event by publicly endorsing the Democrat nominee for president.

Swift clarified her stance following a claim on Trump’s website that said she endorsed him.

She refuted this with an Instagram post holding her cat, stating, “I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election.”

“I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them,” Swift claimed.

She also expressed her admiration for Harris, describing her as a “steady-handed, gifted leader” and praising her commitment to important social issues.

Swift’s political endorsements are not new: she supported Joe Biden in 2020 for similar reasons.

She also commended Tim Walz, Harris’ running mate, “who has been standing up for LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and a woman’s right to her own body for decades.”

Instead of just telling her 283 million Instagram followers whom to vote for, Swift encouraged them to research and make informed decisions themselves.

She then signed off as “Childless Cat Lady,” referencing resurfaced remarks from GOP vice presidential candidate J.D. Vance.

Governor Walz appreciated Swift’s endorsement. He acknowledged it on MSNBC and celebrated Swift and her followers’ support.

Before endorsing Harris, Swift faced criticism for avoiding discussing the 2024 election.

She also came under fire for her associations with suspected MAGA supporter Brittany Mahomes.

Mahomes is Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ wife. In turn, Patrick and Swift’s boyfriend Travis Kelce are teammates.

This friendship prompted calls from some fans demanding Swift distance herself from Mahomes.

Former CNN host Don Lemon emphasized Swift’s significant influence and the importance of her political voice, especially after she has endorsed more openly political stances since the 2018 midterms.

During this time, Swift endorsed Republican Senator Marsha Blackburn’s Democrat opponent.

Following the overturning of Roe v. Wade, Swift said that she was “absolutely terrified that this is where we are – that after so many decades of people fighting for women’s rights to their own bodies, today’s decision has stripped us of that.”
