(DailyEmailNews.com) – Texas has dealt a major blow to illegal immigration and violent crime after capturing four deadly gang members at the southern border.
Governor Greg Abbott’s Operation Lone Star is proving its worth, intercepting criminals before they can harm innocent Americans.
Specifically, Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) troopers arrested four members of the notorious Venezuelan prison gang Tren de Aragua.
The suspects attempted to cross the U.S.-Mexico border illegally by posing as part of a larger group of 22 people from several countries trying to enter Texas through Val Verde County.
Governor Abbott, who has been leading the charge against illegal immigration and transnational criminal organizations, announced the arrests.
He also emphasized the ongoing threat these gangs pose to Texan communities and America as a whole.
The arrests are a testament to the effectiveness of Operation Lone Star, launched to combat the alarming surge in illegal immigration and criminal activity at the southern border.
This operation has become increasingly crucial as the Biden administration continues to neglect border security, leaving states like Texas to fend for themselves.
The arrested gang members were identified as Segundo Ocando-Mejia, Pedro Luis Salazar-Cuervo, Antonio Joe Urruttia-Rojas and Levi Jesus Urrutia-Blanco.
Alarmingly, authorities believe Ocando-Mejia’s tattoos signal that he holds a leadership position within the gang.
This arrest potentially disrupted a significant criminal operation before it could take root on American soil.
Governor Abbott has taken a strong stance against the Tren de Aragua gang, designating it as a foreign terrorist organization.
By doing so, Texas law enforcement is allowed to use enhanced measures to combat the gang’s activities and prevent them from establishing a “foothold in the state.”
The Tren de Aragua gang, which originated in Venezuelan prisons, has become a transnational criminal organization.
It has been involved in extortion, drug trafficking, human trafficking, kidnapping and illegal mining.
Their expansion into the United States represents a serious threat to national security and public safety.
Governor Abbott’s proactive approach includes creating a Tren de Aragua Strike Team within the DPS and offering rewards for information leading to the arrest of gang members.
These measures demonstrate Texas’s commitment to protecting its citizens from the violence and chaos brought by unchecked illegal immigration.
As Texas continues to lead the fight against transnational crime, the need for strong federal action has become evident.
Governor Abbott declared, “Until President Trump is back in the White House to secure our border, Texas will continue to hunt down dangerous criminals like TdA and put them behind bars to protect Texans from this vicious gang.”
Texas DPS troopers arrested 4 confirmed Tren de Aragua members who attempted to illegally cross the border on New Year’s Eve.
Texas will continue to hunt down TdA & put them behind bars.
