President Donald Trump’s America First agenda has drawn a fierce response from China, with the communist regime saying it will “fight to the end” to protect itself.
This comes after President Trump vowed to address China’s unfair trade practices, threatening an additional tariff on Chinese imports if Beijing does not withdraw its own tariffs on American products.
The escalating trade war shows the president’s resolve to protect American workers from Communist China’s economic aggression.
In turn, China’s furious response revealed just how effective President Trump’s hardline approach truly is.
The Chinese Commerce Ministry declared, “The countermeasures China has taken are aimed at safeguarding its sovereignty, security and development interests, and maintaining the normal international trade order. They are completely legitimate.”
He added, “The U.S. threat to escalate tariffs on China is a mistake on top of a mistake and once again exposes the blackmailing nature of the U.S. China will never accept this. If the U.S. insists on its own way, China will fight to the end.”
President Trump took to social media to declare:
“If China does not withdraw its 34% increase above their already long term trading abuses…the United States will impose ADDITIONAL Tariffs on China of 50%, effective April 9th. Additionally, all talks with China concerning their requested meetings with us will be terminated!”
This bold move comes as China continues its long pattern of economic abuse against American businesses and workers.
China’s Communist leadership immediately lashed out against President Trump’s decisive action.
Their Commerce Ministry issued a statement filled with typical propaganda and threats, making it clear that Beijing fears Trump’s America-first economic policies.
🚨🇺🇸🇨🇳CHINA: TRUMP’S TARIFF THREAT IS “A MISTAKE ON TOP OF A MISTAKE”
Beijing slams Trump’s latest plan to slap an extra 50% tariff on Chinese goods, calling it “unilateral bullying” and vowing to “fight to the end” if the U.S. escalates.

The current trade dispute began when President Trump imposed a 34% tariff on Chinese goods earlier this year to combat decades of unfair trade practices that have devastated American manufacturing communities.
Rather than addressing its own economic misconduct, China retaliated with a 34% tariff on American products, set to take effect on April 10.
The additional 50% tariff threatened by President Trump would raise the total duty on Chinese goods to a combined 104%.
While critics warn about potential economic impacts, supporters recognize that President Trump’s tough stance is exactly what is needed to reset the deeply unbalanced U.S.-China trade relationship.
The United States had an estimated $582 billion goods trade with China in 2024, with a massive trade deficit that has enriched Beijing while hollowing out American manufacturing towns.
Beijing has begun deploying typical communist tactics, including weakening its currency to manipulate markets.
The People’s Bank of China set the yuan at its weakest level since September 2023 – a clear signal that China is willing to hurt its own people to maintain its unfair trade advantage over America.
Hong Kong’s Chief Executive, a puppet of the Chinese Communist Party, condemned President Trump’s actions as “bullying.”
Meanwhile, Chinese officials continue to demand dialogue on “mutual respect” terms, which is seen as a code for wanting America to back down while China continues its economic misconduct.
“I don’t think what the U.S. has done reflects a willingness for sincere dialogue. If the U.S. really wants to engage in dialogue, it should adopt an attitude of equality, mutual respect and mutual benefit,” said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian.
