(DailyEmailNews.com) – In a dramatic turn of events, the International Criminal Court (ICC) has just issued an arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
The ICC based its decision on claims that Netanyahu significantly breached international humanitarian law during Israel’s war against terrorism.
The move also sparked controversy and criticism because it put Netanyahu with other high-profile figures accused of war crimes.
The ICC not only issued an arrest warrant for Netanyahu but also for former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant.
These warrants stem from claims of war crimes and crimes against humanity committed in Gaza.
ICC Chief Prosecutor Karim Khan had previously requested these actions in May alongside warrants for three top Hamas officials.
The accusations against Israel are grave, including the use of starvation as a weapon and targeting civilians.
While serious, Israel firmly denies the charges, restating that its military operations are within the scope of international law.

The ICC rejected Israel’s challenges to its jurisdiction and pressed on with the arrest warrants.
Israeli leaders, including President Isaac Herzog, condemned the ICC’s decision. They argue Israel is not subject to ICC jurisdiction because the nation is not a member of the court.
This means Netanyahu and Gallant risk arrest only in ICC member nations. In response, Israel has asked its allies to disregard the arrest warrants.
The ICC announced the arrest warrants while Netanyahu met with a U.S. official advocating for a cease-fire with Hezbollah.
At the same time, Israel resumed bombing Hezbollah-controlled areas in Lebanon. Hezbollah’s new leader Naim Qassem has said the terror group is ready for a “long war” if cease-fire negotiations fail.
