Assassination Plot Against Congressman Revealed

(DailyEmailNews.com) – A shocking assassination plot against a Democrat congressman has exposed the alarming lack of security for elected officials.

Florida Rep. Jared Moskowitz narrowly escaped a potentially deadly encounter when an armed felon was arrested near his home.

Moskowitz revealed that local police informed him of a “potential plot” against his life just one day before the election.

Suspect John Lapinski is a former felon. He was arrested near the congressman’s Florida residence.

Law enforcement discovered a rifle, suppressor, body armor and a disturbing manifesto containing antisemitic rhetoric with Moskowitz’s name as the sole target.

The Margate Police Department acted swiftly, arresting Lapinski on charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and other firearms-related offenses.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives has taken the lead in the ongoing investigation, working alongside local authorities to uncover the full extent of this plot.

Moskowitz, who was elected to the House of Representatives in 2023, expressed deep concern about the security of Congressional members, particularly when they are in their home districts.

As a father of two young sons, the congressman’s personal stake in this matter is all too clear.

“As someone who was appointed to the Task Force on the Attempted Assassination of Donald J. Trump, I understand the failures and importance of fixing the protection of our current and future Commander-In-Chief and Vice President,” Moskowitz stated.

“At the same time, I am deeply worried about Congressional member security and the significant lack thereof when we are in the district. Regardless of our political affiliations or differences, we all have families we want to keep safe,” he added.

This alarming incident is not isolated. It comes amidst a backdrop of rising threats against elected officials, including assassination attempts on President-elect Donald Trump.

The Department of Justice recently charged a man employed by Iran to assassinate Trump before the election, underscoring the gravity of these threats.

The U.S. Capitol Police reported a staggering increase in threat assessments against Congress members, with over 8,008 cases opened last year alone.

Rep. Matt Gaetz expressed outrage over the plot against his colleague Moskowitz, showing that concern for the safety of our elected officials transcends party lines.
