(DailyEmailNews.com) – Dealing a blow to labor organizers who sought to impose their agenda, Amazon workers in North Carolina overwhelmingly rejected unionization.
Workers cast their ballots in a closely watched union election at Amazon’s RDU ONE facility in Garner, North Carolina.
The results were clear: 2,447 votes against unionization, compared to a mere 829 in favor.
This landslide victory for Amazon highlights the workforce’s clear preference for maintaining a direct relationship with their employer, free from union interference.
The unionization effort was spearheaded by the Carolina Amazonians United for Solidarity and Empowerment (CAUSE), a grassroots labor organization founded in 2022.
Despite their efforts, the initiative failed to gain traction among the warehouse’s 4,000-plus employees.
Despite promises of higher wages and increased benefits, workers chose to trust Amazon’s proven track record of fair compensation and employee care.
Amazon spokesperson Eileen Hards celebrated the workers’ decision, stating:
“We’re glad that our team in Garner was able to have their voices heard, and that they chose to keep a direct relationship with Amazon. We look forward to continuing to make this a great place to work together, and to supporting our teammates as they build their futures with us.”
This resounding rejection of unionization is particularly significant given North Carolina’s status as the state with the lowest union membership rate at a mere 2.4%.

It clearly indicates that workers in the Tar Heel State value their freedom to negotiate directly with employers without the burden of union dues and bureaucracy.
Additionally, the defeat of CAUSE’s unionization efforts exposed the disconnect between union organizers and the actual needs and desires of workers in the state.
While CAUSE leaders attempted to blame their loss on alleged intimidation tactics by Amazon, the lopsided vote suggests that workers simply were not buying what the union was selling.
Former Amazon worker and CAUSE co-founder Rev. Ryan Brown accidentally revealed the union’s weak position.
He expressed, “We had already braced ourselves for a loss. We knew that historically the tide was against us to have a win for several reasons.”
“One, we’re in the South. Two, the average worker that’s in North Carolina knows nothing about a union and the benefits of a union and what a union could do for them,” Brown added.
The union’s demands included a starting wage of $30 an hour from Amazon’s current wage range of $18 to $24.
For many, this victory for Amazon and its workers sends a strong message to other corporations facing union pressure.
It means standing firm regarding direct employee relationships and resisting the intrusion of third-party organizations that often prioritize their own interests over those of the workers they claim to represent.
As the dust settles on this failed unionization attempt, Amazon’s triumph in North Carolina is not just a win for the company but a victory for free-market principles and the rights of workers to choose their own path to success.
